I heart google!

Anyone else love google???

I swear since conception my boobs became immediately painful, very sore and huge, well huger, (just another bonus to being preggers) so tonight when I leapt up, my boobs bounced a little and I nearly crumbled in pain, the question popped into my head "I wonder how much my boobs weigh now?"

So yes I googled it and here's what I found, from a programme Trinny and Susannah did, a method of weighing your boobs!!!!

Dr Tyrer’s water method:
• The equipment needed is a kitchen balance, a baking tray and a bowl large enough to fit a breast in.
• Weigh the baking tray, record the weight.
• Put the bowl onto the baking tray and then put the combination onto the kitchen balance.• Fill the bowl with water up to the brim.
• Now carefully place the breast into the bowl until the rim of the bowl contacts the chest area, so that the breast is now totally immersed.
• The displaced water is captured in the baking tray (the bowl can now be removed from the baking tray) and the weight of the baking tray with the displaced water is now noted.
• Once the original weight of the baking tray is removed we now have the weight of water which has been displaced by the breast.
• 1 litre of water weighs 1kg so an individuals weight can now be represented directly as a volume.
• Repeat the procedure for the other breast.
• Now you have the volume and weight for the total breast tissue of an individual.

HEY LADIES......... come back, put down your baking tray and bowl and finish reading my post ;)
No seriously I know you will all be curious so one word of advice seeing as its winter, make the water warm!

HAVE FUN, I WILL.

Oh the joy.....

Ok, so Thanks to the world wide web here’s a rundown of what is happening to me, apparently this week at 5 weeks preggers – My comments to these things are in red

Get ready! Shit, get ready already!?

You're in for some changes really, are you sure? you mean I can't have a 9lb baby without my body changing?

During pregnancy, you'll lose your waist great my waist was my best assest, your breasts may grow an entire cup size yay and to think all I needed to do was to get preggers not have implants and your rib cage and hips will widen shite, what the hell they gonna look like after two buses wide instead of one.

You'll look and feel more padded THANK YOU, when I am overly emotional already you wanna tell me I’m going to look PADDED!!!! WTF? all over, though probably not so much that strangers will know you're pregnant for some time yep I’m just gonna look like I’m getting fat Your hair (on your body and head), facial complexion and the pigment on your nipples and elsewhere may be changing, too.
Ok…. So let me get this straight, I’m 5 weeks in and you wanna take away my waist, increase my boobs to enormous instead of big (without charging me or having surgery?), make me as wide as two busses in the hip region, PAD me up but no-one will know I’m pregnant, then change my complexion, hair and my freaking nipples?
Well blow me I can’t wait for Week 6!

5 Weeks

Wow I'm at 5 weeks already, when I found out we were extremely early on and hadn't even missed my period but the tests have advance alot and maybe my HCG is stronger than my previous pregnancy's.
When I put the little ticker thing on the right up it was saying 3 weeks 6 days I think, now I'm 5 weeks 1 day!! YAY, every day is nearer to safety hey?

Anyway, I have been very sick with the flu and have taken the week off both my jobs sick.
Alicia commented she had a cold in early stage too so I googled it and this is what I found in symptoms of early pregnancy -

Nasal Stuffiness / Colds
A foetus is very clever, even at an early age. In a healthy pregnancy, your immune system is suppressed and prevented from attacking and rejecting the foetus as if it were an foreign object by hormones and antibodies the foetus produces. The antibodies also take part in the growth and development of the placenta. As a result of these hormonal changes to your immune system, you are more susceptible to colds and flu. Nasal stuffiness is also very common in pregnancy due to the hormonal effects on the nasal passages.

Not sure about any one else but I love the ticker thing on the side BUT I'm really not loving the visual at the moment!! :) It doesn't look like a baby at all and spooks me a little!! in the nicest possible way of course.

OMG - I can't believe I haven't said, MY MUM AND STEP DAD are coming over!!!! they land the day before due date!! I can't believe it. Singapore Airlines (the best airline to fly to the UK with in my opinion) are doing sale flights and the return is $800!!!! That is amazing, its normally around $1600.

Hopefully my sister, her partner and my NEICE! is coming to but we are just waiting to sort that out, also waiting on my good friend Katie and her husband to see if they are coming.
Then I think Pauls parents can just scrape in on not the cheap cheap flights but still cheaper so they are looking at booking too.

What does this mean to us - Visitors from Mid Jan through to Mid April with a baby in the middle!! I can't wait.

Anyway, have a great day everyone, its pouring down here in Perth but I love it It reminds me of home, opppssyyy, the UK, Australia is home.

THANK YOU!!

Vicki, Kek, Alicia, Hilary, Maryanne, Frankie, Tiarna, Valley Girl, Jodie, Liz , Shelley, Fern, Magda, Kelly, Selina and Deb.............
THANK YOU so much for all your congrats and best wishes for my baby news.

We are still of course over the moon and will stay that way all the way through and beyond no doubt, as the miracle of pregnancy just continues once the baby has been born.

I plan on starting to log my day to day activity etc as a record of the pregnancy but have been so busy over the weekend it may have to wait until tomorrow or Tuesday.

Yesterday I did Bodyattack, came back, got Maddi ready for gymnastics, went to look at Carpets - which was an experience to say the least as I can't stand being sold to!, came back had the carpet measure guy come round, made the carpet decision, got dinner, by the time we had all this done and Maddi to bed it was later than normal and I have another cold so am feeling pants, so we just chilled on the sofa then went to bed.

Today I was up early to go and open Fitness First so Les Mills can do a training module there, come home, just had breakfast, going to teach Bodyattack, get back, super duper quick shower and change to go watch my boy play footy, hoping they notch up another win, then lunch and some down time this arvo.

Have a great Sunday and Thanks again to all those who commented on our amazing news!!

MY NEWS - Baby number 3!!!!

Yep that's right, Paul and I are expecting!!
I am very early on so we are hoping for the best, but all being well baby number 3 is due on Feb 23rd 2010. We couldn't wait to tell the kids and our families, we are just so excited.

It is all a bit surreal for me, we started hinting to each other, hinting turned to talking about it, talking turned to discussing, discussing made the decision and all along we both knew it was the right thing for us and our already gorgeous family.

I have had a deep feeling we would have another for a while but felt we were so lucky to have the two healthy kids we have that I should just be happy with that, but you know what, this is definitely meant to be.

As I said above the decision was made, I happened to be ovulating, wham, bam, thank you mam, here I sit, missed my period, falling in the first month, docs today to confirm, 4 1/2 weeks preggers. WHAT A BLESSING.

The gap this time isn't quite the 8 years between Bryce and Maddi, it will be 6 years between Maddi and new baby, but for Bryce it will be 14!!!!! He is very pleased, he wanted another addition and I'm sure he will be a very protective Big Brother.
I'm just lucky that due to having Bryce young and Maddi reasonably so, at 32 I'm still young enough to have a third.

So my blog will change focus a little!! But I promise to try and keep it related to the Fitness Lifestyle and not make it boring old preggers stuff all the time.

So please join my on this next phase as I travel through - Shar's Fit Pregnancy, YAYYYY!!!!!!

Week 3 Done

So although I lost a few days of training and my normal classes i still got a loss on the scales and skinfolds, didn't do measurements this week due to lack of time before Paul had to leave for clients. Stats are on the sidebar.

Still really focused, loving consistent eating and training, having a daily 'little something', but have a slight change in purpose and direction, won't change things with regards to training and nutrition hugely but does mean change all the same, will update on that soon.

Covered my class this morning!!! I know, not like me but i had to listen to my body and my throat was a little sore again and nose started to run again, need to fully recover and a Bodyattack was not going to help this.

Going to watch Bryce play footy soon, this season they play 4 matches then the ladder /teams get re-shuffled to pitch the correct level of teams against each other.
They play match one of the new ladder last week and lost (Bryce scored 7 of 8 goals though, think proud mum might have mentioned this already!) so they could really do with a win this week.

Have a great Sunday, Shar x

Yummo - Meal 3 of the day

Check this out, my late lunch........
Chicken, Mushroom
and Ricotta Filo Parcels
This is my new meal,
comes in at the following -
Cals 293, 6g Fat, 34g Protein,
27g Carbs.
They are delish and taste even better cause I have taken the time (5 mins max!)
to make them. THANKS FOR THE CHANGE BOSS!! :)
So I woke up feeling better today, I'm still blocked up and did feel really wiped out on Saturday and Sunday, although on Sunday I did drag my arse down to the footy to watch my bestest boy who scored 7 of the 8 goals!!
So this morning I taught Bodyvive which I found quite taxing!! I was worried about teaching Bodyattack tonight, though it might floor me but I actually managed quite well, the challenge is TWO bodyattacks tomorrow, one A.M, one P.M then one on Thursday, break on Friday though.
Same as last week, I will lose 2 days of this week due to sickness but I'm feeling good about getting back after a four day break from exercise and getting a loss on the scales and skinfolds.
Feeling really great with everything, calories are at a level that is allowing losses but I am eating heaps, metabolism is starting to pick up, good variety and for once I'm not training my ass off raising my cortisol levels and living in a catabolic state. FAB-U-LESS.

What you believe yourself to be, you are."

Do you believe, deep down inside of you, that you can succeed in what you want to do?
Beliefs are strong, and they have the power to attract what is believed to us.

Worth a read.....

After receiving my e mail update from T-nation I browsed down to see what articles were in this edition, I came across 'Deconstructing Paul Chek' by Chris Shugart.
Basically Chris Shugart had an interview with Paul Chek, it went on and on for 4 hours, instead of writing an article, in the end Chris has just bullet pointed lots of bits from Paul Chek for all to read through.

My hubby Paul is working through the Levels of the C.H.E.K. certification program he mentions during in the interview and I completed the Holistic Lifestyle Coach programme back last November.
I found alot of the stuff is in depth and I am still working through it all trying to educate myself, also trying to be realistic in which bits I can work into my life etc.
a worthwhile read is his book 'Eat, Move and Be Healthy', this gives you the outline and delivers it at the base level.

Anyway, there is alot of info in the interview and you have to be quite open when reading, personally I personally feel and see the CHEK approach to Exercise and Nutrition as these are the areas we have both explored, the spiritual side that he is heading in alongside these two areas does interest me but I am yet to delve into this, so am still very open when reading this.

I have pulled some of the points from his interview that sit with me -

  • I've been doing this for 22 years hardcore. That's a lot of study and work. I've done the equivalent of three or four Master's degrees in the last ten years. This isn't a haphazard, light duty job for me. This is 15 to 18 hours a day, every day. It's all I really enjoy doing. It's all I care to do. This is what I came here to do.
  • My job isn't necessarily to make people happy. My job is to tell them the truth.
  • The same people who criticize what I do are in the gym using Swiss balls and don't even realize I'm the guy who started that! When I started that everybody said I was a fucking idiot. Now they're rolling around on the balls and don't even know where the hell it came from!
  • It's only through a healthy body that you can have a functional, rational mind. One of the main reasons I train my body is so that my mind works effectively
  • Everything we see going on in exercise, resistance training, bodybuilding – if it's not spiritualized and it's not managed, then it becomes a dysfunction.
So what do you see? You see all sorts of one hit wonders that win a bodybuilding contest once as an amateur and you never see them again. Why? Because they hurt their back, they hurt their neck, they exhaust their adrenal glands, and they gain so much weight after one contest that they can never lose it again without extreme dietary practices, and that puts them further and further into the hole.
  • If you don't want to have problems, eat real food. Stop eating all this cheap crap. I've had multi-millionaires and world-class professional athletes in my office tell me that organic food is too expensive.
I walk them to the window and point to their $140,000 sports car and say, "Eat that fucker then! Because when you die they aren't going to bury that son of a bitch with you!"
It's just a matter of getting your priorities right. The more toxic your body is, the lower your quality of life is.
  • The people who say that organic food is no better then regular are what's technically known as controlbots. A controlbot is somebody whose mind has been taken over by corporate entities or religion or anybody who has an agenda.
The people who say organic food is no better are equivalent to people who don't have enough mental capacity to ask and answer their own questions. They are puppets for the media. All they're doing is regurgitating the garbage that's been fed to them by people who have a strategic plan.
  • Whey proteins are not created equal. I work with cancer patients. If you want to make a cancer patient sick, feed them cheap whey protein. I have to use organic, raw, cold processed, 80-dollar-a-can protein powder to help these people.
  • Drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day. If you weigh 200 pounds you have to put 100 ounces of water into the system a day to effectively clean it, detoxify it, and energize the body.
  • Always go for the highest quality food you can. The highest quality is certified organic. When it comes to meat, always go for free-range
  • Eating according to your metabolic type is brutally simple, and I can't believe so many idiots keep saying that it's bullshit.
Metabolic typing is nothing other than finding the right ratio of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates for your unique needs which change based on your racial or ethnic origin, what part of the world your parents originated from, and what your body's biological and environmental needs are.
  • The guy right beside you may be a protein type. On the other side you might have a carb type. Yet you're sitting at a seminar in the year 2006 where they're telling you an athlete should eat 70% carbohydrate and only 30% fat and protein for best performance! And who's sponsoring the conference? Fuckin' Gatorade!

If you want the whole thing including the spiritual stuff, get a cup of tea, oooppss - glass of water :) and have a read - http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_interviews/deconstructing_paul_chek?utm_source=weekly_dose&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=tmuscle

Weekly report - Week 2 and other ramblings

So a good week this week, results on the sidebar.
These results have come with 2 days off trianing and classes due to being sick, so very pleased this week.

Feels good to find a place that is consistent, yep only 2 weeks on this way of eating but even before that I haven't had a binge for ages, like I can't remember how long.
Sure I ate too much now and again, but it was controlled not mindless binging.

I am really enjoying everyday, no restrictions = no mental fighting, a level of training that is not absorbing all of my spare time nor my energy, a place that I can travel my journey to my next goal at a pace that allows me to watch and feel what is happening along the way.

So I missed a few sessions at the end of this week as I have been fighting a really sore throat all week and as usual when I get a sore throat it means I'm more than likely going to get a cold. Well Friday was the worst so far this week and sure enough my nose did start to run, I stayed at home, on the sofa, had a sleep and when I woke up my throat was better but my nose was streaming.
Had a bad night last night and when I woke up after a little bit of sleep I was even worse, feel like absolute poo today, watering eyes, running nose, which is now red raw, headache blah blah blah.
So no classes today or tomorrow, lots of sitting around (which is driving me freaking crazy) and hope to be back in action Monday.

Was saying to Di, normally I would use a break in training due to being sick etc as a reason to 'indulge' to make myslef feel better, but when I looked at it a bit deeper I have noted that being at home, doing nothing is a trigger for me food wise, also may relate to the 'weekend' mentality I used to have, days off work, being at home all weekend with less to do / out of routine etc.

Anyway, gonna lay down and doze see if I don't wake up feeling a little better!
Have a great weekend

"Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Racing through life is very stressful.
If we stay in high gear too long, we lose our ability to shift down.
And when we're stressed, we can't access happiness, appreciation, fun, compassion, generosity, awareness of beauty and other wonderful qualities.
High stress also triggers negative emotions like frustration, impatience, anger and fear.
Life has so much to offer if we will slow down and truly experience it.
We must always remember that we are the ones in control of the accelerator.
We CAN choose to brake.

Weekly Report - Week 1

So one week down and Saturday saw me weigh, take measurements and skinfolds.
I am pleased to report the bloat has left the building! Stats are logged on my sidebar to the right, i'll keep a running total there.

Feeling great, started off not being able to finish the food I was allocated, then went to feeling just right, then towards the end of week 1 felt hungry, so when I told Di I might have to eat my toes, she decided that really wasn't a good thing and when I got my plan updated on Saturday it had a whole extra meal on!!! YAY.

Exercise and training all good. After training on Monday with Paul I was so sore in my back!

I have been highly stressed this week, learning the new choreography for the launches on the weekend. I had to Launch Bodyattack on my own on Saturday then teach tht enew BB straight after, but now it done I feel heaps better.
I just have to Launch Bodyvive into one of our south clubs today, but I already know that as its the programme I present for Les mills.

Public Holiday here, Paul and i will probably take the kids to the park for some fresh air and a blow out, maybe even Kings Park in the city.

Focus for the week -
1) Sleep
2) Plan week ahead and work efficiently in all areas.

hope you all have a good one
